After another round of heavy rainfall and possibly a lot more on the way this weekend, flooding is on the minds of local leaders.
Local municipalities sent out warnings today asking homeowners for their help to prevent flooded streets.
Toshiko Nakamura remembers the flooding from June 7 on Boca Chase Drive in Boca Raton and now worries about more rainfall.
"More flooding, more mosquitoes and more vehicles that are trapped," says Nakamura.
That's what local leaders are trying to prevent.
Across Palm Beach County, debris may have accumulated in front of neighborhood drains, which can lead to flooding.
Ahead of the weekend rain, they asked people to check those drains.
John Van Sant of Delray Beach is making that a top priority.
"Just sneak outside and make sure it's cleared out," says Van Sant.
The South Florida Water Management District is working with local governments and drainage district to clear drains as well.
