A Boca Raton man has quite a bit more cash in his pocket after winning a big prize playing the Florida Lottery.

The Florida Lottery said in a Monday news release that James Barie, 60, of Boca Raton, claimed a $1 million top prize in the FLORIDA 20X THE CASH scratch-off game.

He picked up his prize Thursday at lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

Barie chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $770,000.

The Boca Raton man purchased his winning ticket from a Publix, located at 3740 West Hillsboro Blvd., in Deerfield Beach.

The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.

The new $5 game, FLORIDA 20X THE CASH, launched on Jan. 15, and features 14 top prizes of $1 million and more than $110 million in cash prizes.
