Police are still waiting on forensic test results to determine whether the murder on I-95 in Boca and the deputy-involved shooting on I-95 in Lantana involve the same suspect.

Wednesday morning, police launched their investigation into the murder of 29-year-old Edvin Milkevic. He was found shot in his car after swerving off the highway in Boca.

Thursday, Boca police released a brief statement on Facebook saying “detectives are also looking at other incidents and crimes to determine if there are any connections to this case.”

However, separate sources confirmed that includes that deputy involved shooting on I-95 and the shootings connected to it.

There is no definitive word on when police here will get those forensic test results.

Meanwhile those close to Milkevic say they feared their friend was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“It just seemed too coincidental that all of this is happening on one day, hours apart,” said Mary Lou, one of Edvin’s neighbors. “It was quite a few hours apart, but all in one days just seems a little too chaotic. So it just makes you wonder if he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.”

To be clear, these test results could come back and say there is no connection.

But sources say it hasn’t been ruled out yet.
