A Fort Lauderdale teenager will be charged as an adult as a result of a three-vehicle crash in Boca Raton that injured eight people in July.
Police said Wanzay Denson, who turns 18 next month, and five others in his car tried to get away from them as they investigated a suspected armed robbery on North Federal Highway.
The driver refused a command to stop, drove in and out of traffic and, at one point, steered into oncoming traffic, according to a probable cause affidavit.
The suspects' car, a 2005 Acura MDX, eventually crashed into a 2016 Toyota Sienna and a 1996 Ford Ranger at W Palmetto Park Road and NW 12 Avenue.
The driver faces several traffic-related charges involving fleeing or attempting to elude police.
