BOCA RATON, Fla. -- If you heard a loud explosion along the beach in Boca Raton Monday, it wasn't your imagination.
The police department's bomb team blew up a military marking flare.
The device was found by a passer-by near the 500 block of North Ocean.
The flare that was detonated is similar to the one in the accompanying picture.
