BOCA RATON, Fla. — Tonight the Jewish community is on edge following a shooting at Kosher market in Jersey City.
For Jews, in Boca Raton, it’s a difficult reality and a sad day.
“It just underscores the world we live in right now,” says CEO of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, Matt Levin.
That’s the local reaction after investigators say two people were involved in the shootout that killed a police officer and three civilians. It’s the latest attack involving the Jewish community. South Florida teacher, Rabbi Mordechai Lichy says, “It's a shame and it's sad but sadly it's something we're used to.”
In response, Synagogues are adjusting security and PBSO says they are taking appropriate measures.
