We're celebrating Valentine's Day, one of the busiest days for flower shops across the area.

The last two days were a madhouse at Field of Flowers in Boca Raton.

There are over 600 deliveries scheduled today among the shop's three locations in South Florida.

Roses are the most popular flower. About 5,000 were ordered this week ahead of Valentine's Day.

Florists suggest also thinking out of the box and ordering flowers like orchids and tulips.

"Send something unique,"said Jaclyn Gough, a floral designer at Field of Flowers. "Tulips are fun. They have a mind of their own. Watch them grow. Let her [your significant other] know how special he or she is."

There are 12 drivers going out today from the Boca Raton location. Typically there are three drivers.

When the store opened an hour early at 8 a.m., all the customers were men.

"I snuck out first thing this morning, what do you think," said David Rymar, of Boca Raton.

Ken Sooker, of Boca, added, "I'm up early, so i figured I'd bring my flowers home right now instead of this afternoon," he said. "Plus, they're fresher."

Field of Flowers is open today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
