A 73-year-old man is accused of pushing an 88-year-old woman to the ground and shoving two employees at a suburban Boca Raton country club.
Deputies say Sheldon Maschler pushed his way into the dining room of Boca West Country Club on Feb. 13 around lunch time.
The elderly woman suffered a fractured hip from the push, an emergency room doctor told a deputy in an arrest report.
Maschler also pushed two Boca West employees in the chest, the report states. Witnesses told the deputy they saw him push the 88-year-old woman to the ground from behind.
He’s reportedly a member of the club and has a home inside the development.
Deputies arrested Maschler and booked him into the Palm Beach County Jail. He appeared before a Palm Beach County judge Wednesday morning.
“In his situation, money is no object,” the assistant state attorney told presiding Judge Dina Keever-Agrama who was making a decision on his bond.
“Money should not dictate what happens in this case,” said Robert Gershman, Maschler’s attorney. Gershman added that Maschler has served in the Army.
Judge Keever-Agrama set his bond at $10,000 and he will be on house arrest once released from jail
