Members of a West Boca Raton synagogue gathered Sunday for a day full of mental and physical health training.
The day began with a lesson on what to do if someone goes into cardiac arrest or if they come into contact with someone who is unresponsive.
Members got hands on training as they learned proper CPR techniques, as well as how to use an AED device.
"It sort of empowers you as a congregant to say, ‘Hey, I can help other people in my immediate community as part of my religious community and beyond,” said Sharon Lubin, a member of Congregation Shaarei Kodesh.
Members also learned mindful meditation exercises. The One Blood big red bus was also parked outside for blood donations.
