BOCA RATON, Fla. — There is a heavy police presence at a parking garage in Boca Raton after police say a man was found dead Monday morning.
Police said they received a call around 7:30 a.m. from an employee at the One Ocean Plaza, located at 1 S. Ocean Blvd.
When officers arrived, they found the deceased person with a knife wound.
"I have never quite seen anything like this before with this sort of attention," said Clair Pereira, who lives in the area.
This section of A1A is a popular place for walker and cyclists.
Resident Kevin Metlzer said this isn't a crime he's seen in this part of town.
"Pretty shocking. East Boca Raton you think is very safe," said Metlzer.
"It could just be a one weird accident that happened. It could be something odd. I wouldn’t anticipate this would be the norm because this is a very lovely community," said Pereira.
The name of the victim and cause of death have not been released.
