Three Broward County men cruising through Boca Raton neighborhoods in a rental car got an unexpected trip to jail.

Their actions caught the attention of a city police tactical team who ended up pulling them over and searching their vehicle.

Among the items they found was a distinctive ring, police said.  The ring has the Miami Heat logo and "World Champions" on it.

Detectives said a name was etched inside the ring and so they made a call to the possible owner. They discovered that person was speaking to other Boca Raton officers about a burglary to her home.

The ring and other items found in the suspects' vehicle belonged to her, police said.

Lakewood Oaks and Colonnade were among the neighborhoods the men had been driving through.

Jerry Simon, 23, of Oakland Park, Kareem Auguste, 23, of Coral Springs and Jaheim Richardson, 22, of Fort Lauderdale face charges of burglary to a dwelling, crossing county lines to commit  burglary, grand theft, possession of burglary tools and criminal mischief, police said.
