One U.S. congressman says he won't stop fighting to bring a South Floridian back from captivity in Iran.
Bob Levinson disappeared in Iran in 2007. The former FBI agent lived in Coral Springs. Reports indicate he was in Iran working on an unapproved intelligence mission for the CIA.
While four Americans were released from Iran over the weekend, Levinson was not.
"We have to remember him," Representative Ted Deutch says. "Even as there is good news about these other Americans, there is an American who continues to be missing from his family."
Deutch says he's spoken with the Levinson family, the president's chief of staff, and other administration leaders about including Levinson in any discussions or negotiations with Iran.
"Now is the time, now that these other Americans are coming home, the world can focus on his plight and this poor family's plight, to do everything we can to bring him home," Deutch says.
The Levinson family released a statement saying they're "devastated" Levinson was left behind during this weekend's prisoner release.
Iran says it does not know where Levinson is.
