$168.5 million lottery ticket sold in Boynton Beach

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — A Florida Lottery ticket sold in Boynton Beach matched all five numbers for Wednesday night's drawing and is worth $168.5 million. It was sold at a Publix located at 4770 North Congress Ave.

The winning numbers drawn on Wednesday are 02-06-18-36-37 with the Power Ball 21 and PowerPlay 02.

On Sept. 4, Florida Lottery officials announced that William Kruger of Lantana was the lucky winner. He chose to receive his winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $140,145,006.

This is the 14th Powerball jackpot-winning ticket sold in Florida since 2009. However, this is the first in Palm Beach County or the Treasure Coast.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are one in 292,201,336.

WPTV went to the Publix where the winning ticket was sold and asked people how they would spend all that cash!

Kristian Groleiu of Boynton Beach said she wouldn’t work anymore, pay off her father's house and continue "to live my simple life."

Yvonne Claudio of Boynton Beach said she would buy a full-size Chevrolet Tahoe, establish a college fund for her grandson and buy her father a house.

Laconnia Watkins of Royal Palm Beach believes that amount of money is too much for one person and would give it to her family and help build shelters for the homeless and battered women.
