BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — Boynton Beach police officers are out in full force to look for speeders in school zones with the start of the new school year.
On the first day of school, officers say they wrote 41 citations to speeding drivers. The fastest speed recorded was 47 mph in the 20 mph zone. That resulted in a more than $400 fine.

On the second day, officers wrote 16 citations. Six of the citations were issued at Citrus Cove Elementary School, five in the morning and one in the afternoon.
There were also two citations issued at Crosspointe Elementary and eight at Freedom Shores Elementary.
