EARLIER STORY:
Boynton Beach police are investigating an early-morning shooting.
It happened in the parking lot of Liberty Gas Station at 1601 South Federal Hwy., around 1:49 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
Investigators said one man suffered gunshot wounds to the torso following a confrontation and he was hospitalized in critical condition.
There's security camera video of the shooting but its not being released at the request of the police.
Gas station owner Gary Gien, who did see the video, says a car and SUV pulled in together. “The guy got out of his vehicle came over, either knocked on the window, don’t know if it was opened or unopened, and then you saw a punch and as soon as you saw the punch the shots were fired, and he went down, the car (SUV) sped off.”
The owner says the SUV that took off after the shots looked like a Durango.
