They said it was all possible due to a generous donation from a long-time customer.
Even the Italian restaurant’s mascot, a parrot named Frankie, was in attendance as dozens of cars pulled up to the store while staff handed out the meals.
“I’ve been here a long time and made a lot of friends in the neighborhood. I know there’s people out here hurting for money and could use a free meal. So, anything I can do to help out the community, I’m happy to be here,” said chef and owner Anthony Calicchio.
On Wednesday, the restaurant said they handed out 250 meals and donated 100 pizzas to St. Mark’s Catholic Church.
