A Boynton Beach woman has a big reason to celebrate.

Bessie Walk celebrated her 105th birthday today at East Ocean Cafe.

She was born in 1911. She spent most of her life in Pennsylvania, where she played the piano during silent movies. In the 1940's she opened a dress store.

In 1972, she retired to Pompano Beach, eventually moving to Boynton Beach to be with her daughter.

What are her keys to living so long? Keep a positive attitude. Stay busy: She golfed until she was 95-years-old and plays cards regularly. She avoids dairy products.

Most importantly, she spends time with family.

"I have wonderful children, I have wonderful in-laws, and they keep me happy," Walk says.

She has two children, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family has a special dinner planned for Walk tonight.
