The Palm Beach County Health Department is investigating reports of a large number of absentees at Freedom Shore Elementary School in Boynton Beach.
The cause of the illness has not yet been determined.
“Well it’s that time of year where we’re going to start seeing attendance issues popping up because it’s flu season and we’re going to have a lot of kids out there sniffling and coughing,” said Palm Beach County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Robert Avossa.
The school is located at 3400 Hypoluxo Road.
