The Boynton Beach Police Department will participate in an accreditation assessment in August, and the public is invited to share thoughts about the department.

The Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation On-Site Assessment will be a three-day evaluation process in which a team of law enforcement professionals will look at the department's standards and compliance.

The voluntary process is meant to gain or maintain recognition of law enforcement professional excellence and accreditation lasts for three years.

The commission encourages input from the public about their experiences with the department.

If you would like to provide feedback, call (800) 558-0218, email  flaccreditation@fdle.state.fl.us or send a letter to the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, P.O. Box 1489, Tallahassee, FL 32302.

The evaluation process begins on Aug. 2.
