DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — You may have heard of “Friendsgiving,” but several schools in Delray Beach celebrated, “Teachersgiving,” on Monday with a massive donation of 265 turkeys.
The donation was organized by the local non profit, “Eat Better, Live Better” with help from the Porcaro Law Group and Freedom Chiropractic. The operation took more than $3,500 in donations to make this possible.
The turkeys are all going to teachers and staff at the Village Academy, the Achievement Center, the Milagro Center and the EJS Project.
“We are distributing turkey to the teacher because teachers do so much for our kids, and they even give some things out of their own pocket, we just want to give back and make the teachers feel special this holiday season,” said Debra Tendrich, the founder of "Eat Better, Live Better."
"Eat Better, Live Better" works in the community to help prevent, reduce and reverse childhood obesity through healthy eating and nutrition education.
