DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — Halloween will look different this weekend with many taking extra precautions due to COVID-19.
The annual Witches Ride in Delray Beach has been debroomed with COVID-19.
Alpha witch for theWitches of Delray Andi Devoe said the coven still wanted to keep people involved and still raise money for the Delray Achievement Center.
"We came up with ways to be wicked," Devoe said.
A $20 donation will give access to a Facebook page that has games, contests, and a quiz ride that takes witches around town.
There is also a way to still "ride" at home
"We put the call out there for witches to do their own rides," Devoe said. "We are calling it the DIY ride or DIY fly."
Devoe said they have raised almost $8,000.
Mari Mishaan said the Big Apple Shopping Bazaar is offering a truck-or-treat event in their parking lot on Saturday.
"We will be there from five to nine, so there is no rush," Mishaan said. "We have mastered the socially distanced event in the parking lot."
Like previous events, food trucks will be spaced out to maintain social distancing, and you can trick-or-treat at each truck.
"We are seeing hundreds of people at an event, but not at one time," Mishaan said.
Mishaan said the parking lot has been large enough for people to spread out by their cars, and masks are worn when anyone gets too close.
The Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority is hosting a trick-or-treat on Atlantic Avenue where masks are required, gloves or tongs will be used to pass out candy, and groups must stay outside the shops.
