Delray Beach police remind beachgoers: No pets

Posted

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- Delray Beach police are reminding citizens that pets are not allowed on the beach.

The department launched an educational campaign Wednesday.

Volunteers handed out flyers to beachgoers reminding them that if they're caught with an animal on the beach, it will cost them.

The city commission recently voted against creating a dog beach.

Starting July 1, police will begin handing out citations to violators. A ticket will cost $50.
