A former American Heritage football star has died in a bus crash in North Carolina.

Tito Hamilton along with three others died Saturday after a tire blew out. The bus was heading to a football game.

When Athletic Director at American Heritage Brad Tremper heard the news, it was tough to take in. "Hurtful beyond relief."

19-year-old Tito Hamilton went to Park Vista High School before transferring to American Heritage in Delray Beach.

As a senior Hamilton played offensive and defensive line.

Tremper says he was talented on the gridiron, but also known for his personality off the field.

"Probably one of the funniest kids you've ever come across," says Tremper.

Saturday, Hamilton was traveling on a bus in North Carolina carrying members of the Ramah Juco Academy Football Team.

The tire blew out causing the driver to lose control.

It's been at tough year for American Heritage. Former running back Greg Bryant Jr. was shot and killed on I-95 in May.

"Loss of Greg this year and now the loss of Tito. It's going to be a lot for our family to get over here at American Heritage," says Tremper.

Another life cut far too short.

"Sad that he's gone. I think you would have seen great things from him," Tremper said.
