A man was found dead in a Delray Beach home Tuesday and police are searching for leads to solve the shooting.

Delray Beach police have not yet released the identity of the victim.

The shooting happened near the intersection of SW 1st Street and SW 11th Avenue in Delray Beach.

"There are no words that can explain this at all," said Kimberly Smith who says she is a long time family friend and neighbor.

Smith says she's known the victim and his family for several years.

"have nothing bad at all to say about him, nothing bad at all to say about the family," she added.

Friends and community members say the young man worked for a funeral procession service. Prince Arafat says he knew of him. Arafat says this kind of violence is what makes him go out and into neighborhoods and patrol. He urges people to put a stop to shootings by speaking up.

"It's just sad when it's black on black crime nobody says anything. I'm deeply hurt," said Arafat.

Delray Beach Police say they have no leads and need community members to come forward with what they know.

"If it was their son, they would come forward. We got to stop that stop snitching program. If crime happened, if they did the crime, they got to do the time," added Arafat.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crimestoppers or the Delray Beach Police Department.
