DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (WPTV) — Delray Beach residents are keeping a close eye on Hurricane Dorian and heavy rain.
The water at Delray Beach is high, and water is already pooling along streets and driveways.
Some neighbors have gone to extreme lengths to prevent flooding along Marine Way. One man went as far as building a 3 to 4 foot sea wall to try and deal with tidal flooding. According to residents, the city is designing a new seawall system along Marine Way between Atlantic Avenue and the city marina to prevent property from tidal flooding.
There is also a stormwater pumping station in development to provide protection from rising water tables and flooding.
