A group of young adults and law enforcement are coming together to raise awareness about gun violence.
4 teams from across Palm Beach County will face off in a friendly game of basketball, part of the third annual 'Stop the Violence' tournament. It will be held Saturday, June 23 at 5 p.m. at Pompey Park Gym in Delray Beach.
The event was created in 2016 after the event organizer, Daniel Studdard lost friends to gun violence. He said now more than ever he wants to bridge the gap between youth and law enforcement in the community.
"You know we all want change, yet we still sit home and do nothing about it. I encourage everyone to get involved with their community, get to know people, get to know your local law enforcement, they are people just like we are," said event organizer Daniel Studdard.
