A train struck and killed a pedestrian in Delray Beach Tuesday.
It happened around 2:14 p.m. near Linton Boulevard and SE 10th Street.
Wednesday police identified the victim as 16-year-old Jesus Villalobos.
Police say he was wearing headphones as he walked along the train tracks.
Villalobos was from Colombia and living in Delray Beach to attend school and play baseball at Elev8 Sports Institute, police said.
According to investigators, the train engineer saw the teen and tooted his horn but was unable to stop in time.
Detectives suspect Villalobos was heading to the gym and didn't hear the locomotive approach over his music.
