A 2018 Tesla 3, driven by Jeremy Beren Banner, 50, of suburban Lake Worth, was traveling southbound on State Road 7 in the outside lane, approaching Pero Farms.
PBSO said after the semi came to a brief stop at a stop sign, it entered the southbound lanes of State Road 7, pulling into the path of the Tesla.
In cooperation with the Palm Beach sheriff’s office, the NTSB is sending a team of three to conduct a safety investigation of the commercial motor vehicle and Tesla crash in Delray Beach, FL.

The Tesla struck the driver's side of the semi's trailer, causing the roof to be sheared off as it passed underneath the trailer.
The car continued southbound and came to a final rest about 3/10th of a mile south of the wreck. Banner was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was not hurt.
The report says there are no charges pending in the case.
