PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Skeletal remains found along U.S. Highway 441 west of Delray Beach earlier this month have been identified.
Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Teri Barbera said Monday the remains were identified as Douglas Friend, 54, of Boca Raton.
Barbera said a lawn crew working in the area discovered the remains shortly before 10 a.m. Sept. 8.
Friend's cause of death was not immediately known.
Barbera said the investigation is ongoing.
