St. Lucie County Fire District crews battled a late night house fire in Fort Pierce.
Fire officials said the fire occurred around 10:25 p.m. in the 3200 block of Mura Dr.
The house was unoccupied at the time, but nearby homes were evacuated.
Pictures from Candy Leeigh, a neighbor in the area, showed flames shooting from the roof.
Crews extinguished the fire just before midnight. The cause is under investigation.
