The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office says it's investigating the discovery of three dead bodies in the area of Oleander Avenue.
It initially said a body was found in the 600 block of Ash Street near Port St. Lucie when a landlord arrived to check on a home. He smelled something and then saw a body which was badly decomposed.
Not long after that, the sheriff's office received another 911 call.
“We received a call 3/4 of a mile away from here that someone went to residence up the street, checked on a resident there and found out he was deceased in that residence north of here,” Sheriff Ken Mascara said.
That call was from a neighbor in the Oleander Pines neighborhood.
A few minutes after that a single car crash happened nearby and that driver was pronounced dead.
The sheriff's office believes all three incidents are related.
"I'm not saying three different homicides we're just saying... three different death investigations all within a very short period of time. Very unusual," Sheriff Ken Mascara said on the department's Facebook page.
This story will be updated when more information is available.
