Eriese Tisdale trial continues

Posted

Prosecutors continued their case Monday morning in the trial of a man charged with killing a St. Lucie County Sheriff’s deputy.

Eriese Tisdale faces the death penalty in the February 28th, 2013 shooting death of Sgt. Gary Morales.

The defense has not denied that Tisdale shot Sgt. Morales, but they have said it was done because Tisdale was in fear for his life.

Monday morning, Sgt. Grant King with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office was called to the stand.

He was at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center when Sgt. Morales was brought there.  Sgt. King showed the jury the vest, uniform shirt, and gun belt Sgt. Morales had on at the time.

He also identified a slug removed from Sgt. Morales’ body.  Testimony continues later Monday morning with the girlfriend of Eriese Tisdale.
