Two people were killed in a Thursday crash in St. Lucie County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP said the wreck involved two vehicles at Midway Road and Okeechobee Road around noon.
The victims, identified as 44-year-old Gary Walter Gerber and his passenger, 49-year-old Tammy Lynn Radford, both of Okeechobee, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say Gerber was traveling northbound at the intersection of West Midway Road and State Road 70 when his 2010 Ford Ranger collided directly into a 2004 FHRT semi driven by 53-year-old Javier Gomez, also of Okeechobee.
Gomez suffered minor injuries.
Official say alcohol did not play a role in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
