FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- A 23-year-old woman and a 14-year-old male are facing charges in the home invasion and  kidnapping of  2-month-old Taraji Kemp.

Taraji and her mother were asleep at a Fort Lauderdale home at about 11 p.m. Friday when intruders invaded and took the girl.

According to investigators, Stephanie Augustin and the 14-year-old armed male executed the home invasion and kidnapping.

Broward County jail records show that Augustin is facing multiple charges, including aggravated child abuse, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, armed burglary of a dwelling, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and kidnapping. She is being held without bond.

According to a Broward Sheriff's Office news release, the 14-year-old male who lives in Miami, was also booked last night and is in the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice. He is facing two counts: aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and armed burglary of a dwelling.

The co-defendants are cousins, and Augustin is a cousin of the infant’s mother, said the release.

Augustin fled to Orange County, where she has an apartment, on the night of the kidnapping. She was intercepted by a Florida Highway Patrol trooper at the Florida Turnpike in Fort Pierce on her way back to South Florida.

Taraji was found safe Saturday in Orlando, 17 hours after she was taken.

It could not be immediately determined Sunday if Augustin or the teen have an attorney.
