FORT PIERCE, Fla. — Authorities are investigating a fatal house fire in Fort Pierce on Monday.
Firefighters and police responded to the 1100 block of Fernandina Street around 8:30 a.m to find flames and smoke shooting from the home.
Officials said at least one adult has died from the fire.
At 8:33 AM, units were dispatched to the 1100 blk of Fernandina St. Crews arrived to flames & smoke w/ houses on both sides. A WPTV news crew at the scene saw the home blocked off with yellow tape, as well as damage to the roof and area around the garage.
Police said Fernandina Street is closed between Crestview Drive and Indiatlantic Drive until further notice.
No other details have been released. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
