FORT PIERCE, Fla. — A Fort Pierce man was sentenced Wednesday after threatening mass murder in support of ISIS.
According to court records, 28-year-old Charlton Edward LaChase pleaded guilty Tuesday.
The Justice Department said a search warrant for LaChase's Facebook account revealed his several attempts to purchase firearms, threats to commit mass murder and threats to kill politicians, as well as statements of support for ISIS. He also sent text messages professing his support for ISIS and threatening to commit mass murder.
LaChase was sentenced to 18 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
