A Fort Pierce woman who sought help last month after her home was infested by bees says she is now free of the swarm.
Kathy Shampo was nearly forced out her home in February after a swarm of bees were found underneath it.
Thanks to an outpouring of support from the community, a local bee keeper was able to safely remove the bees. Exterminators also got rid of other insects including termites that were damaging her home.
Shampo sent WPTV a letter on Thursday thanking NewsChannel 5 and viewers for the help.
