2 suspects in custody after 18-year-old man shot, killed in Fort Pierce

FORT PIERCE, Fla. — Two people are now in custody in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man in Fort Pierce on New Year's Day.

Jamal Booker, 18, of Fort Pierce was found shot and unconscious Jan. 1 in the 1200 block of North 29th St. at about 11:49 p.m. He later died of his injuries on Jan. 4, officials said.

One suspect, identified as 28-year-old Amir Tafari Muhammad of Palm Beach County, was located and arrested in Miami on Jan. 4.

On Jan. 6, a second suspect, Megan Nichole Craig, 23, of Port St. Lucie, was arrested.

Craig was taken to the St. Lucie County Jail and charged with first-degree murder.

Fort Pierce police said the investigation into Booker's death is still ongoing.
