A fugitive wanted in New Jersey for failing to pay child support, as well as assault using an automobile, now faces 45 counts of manufacturing explosives in St. Lucie County.
Deputies went to the Duval Avenue home of John Kaminsky Thursday serve out-of-state search warrants and said they found materials used to make explosive devices, as well as 21 grams of marijuana.
Neighbors say they had no idea this was going on.
“I noticed the decorations and stuff and I thought ‘wow that is really nice. We have nice neighbors.’ And then to find out he has bomb-making material,” said neighbor Shawnee Ferraro.
Kaminsky told investigators he was using the explosives to make fireworks.
The explosives are at a safe location so investigators can further analyze them.
It’s expected that Kaminsky will eventually be extradited to New Jersey.
