ST. LUCIE COUNTY — The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrest of a known ISIS supporter.
Charlton Edward LaChase, 28, of the 7000 block of Citrus Park Blvd. was arrested Friday for making ISIS-related terrorist threats.
LaChase was previously arrested in 2018 for transmitting threats through interstate or foreign commerce. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
A federal arrest warrant was placed after LaChase made additional threats since being released on probation Friday morning, the sheriff's office says.
He was arrested at his home and booked into the St. Lucie County Jail on federal charges, where he will remain until his appearance in federal court on Tuesday.
"The long-standing and strong partnership we have with the FBI, U.S. Attorney's Office and other federal partners helps us share important information, act quickly when these types of circumstances arise and ultimately keep our community safe," said Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
