ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. — Commissioners in St. Lucie County voted Tuesday to officially allow nude sunbathing at a local beach.

A section of Blind Creek Beach Park was designated as a clothing-optional area.

The beach sits just north of the St. Lucie Nuclear Power Plant on Hutchinson Island.

Locals say this has long been known as a gathering spot for people who like to sunbathe in the nude.
