The incident happened at the intersection of Manth Lane and Ron Rico Terrace in Port St. Lucie.

According to a witness, the girl was riding her bike quickly through the intersection and the car did not have time to stop, even though it wasn't going fast, even possibly under the speed limit.

The witness added that the girl went over the hood and hit her head on the windshield and her bike ended up on the other side of the street.

The witness and his wife, who is a nurse, stayed with the child until help arrived and said she was confused and dazed. She was not wearing a helmet.
