Acting on a tip, the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office arrested a man who was practicing dentistry without a license.

They say the tip led them to DTS Dental Technology in the 1600 block of St. Lucie West Blvd., which resulted in the arrest of 52-year-old Jose Espinoza-Aleman.

He's facing charges of possession of drugs with the intent to sell, dispense or deliver, unlawfully selling a drug and practicing dentistry without a license.

"The practice of medicine, of any level or type, requires extensive training and the highest level of ethics," St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara said in a statement. "The danger that this individual placed others in could have been life threatening and was blatantly reckless. Thank you to the concerned citizen who saw something and said something that led to this arrest."

The sheriff's office booked Espinoza-Aleman into the St. Lucie County Jail. His bond was set at $75,000.

Police are asking patients of Espinoza-Aleman to call Detective Mitchell Mazanoski at 772-462-3367.
