A 40-year-old woman who works a day care is charged with having sex with a 15-year-old boy in Port St. Lucie.

Police said on Sept. 17 the teen told his parents he had been involved in a sexual relationship with the suspect, Heather Phillips, prompting the police investigation.

Phillips, who works at La Petite Academy, recently told the teen that she was pregnant, causing the boy to tell his parents about the relationship with the woman.

The boy said he met Phillips after dating her 12-year-old daughter earlier this year.   He said Phillips flirted with him and told him he was a “hot kid,” and “wish you were mine.”

The teen said he broke up with the Phillips’ daughter on June 1 but continued to communicate with the 40-year-old woman through text messages via an app called ooVoo.

On one occasion, the boy said she drove him to Girl Scout Park where they had sex on a slide.  He told police he did not want to have sex with Phillips but she forced him.

During one encounter, the boy said Phillips placed a pocket knife on a nightstand and told the teen “don’t run.”

According to the police report, she said she was planning to have an abortion and asked him not to tell his parents.

Police investigated and interviewed Phillips on Sept. 21 about the relationship with the teen.

Phillips is charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior/sexual activity with a child under 16-years-old and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail.  Bond is set at $60,000.
