Car burglaries reported across PSL parking lots

The Port St. Lucie Police Department is investigating a series of car burglaries that happened across the city's public parking lots.

Seven cars were reportedly burglarized on parking lots on the east and west sides of the city. The incidents happened from Saturday, March 26, though April 8, officials say. 

Surveillance cameras from an LA Fitness shows a man peering through car windows and leaving in a newer model four-door white Chevrolet Sonic with temporary tags. 

In all seven incidents the suspect smashed or pried the windows or used a door punch lock to enter the cars. 

The dates and locations where the burglaries have been reported are as follow:

•         1300 block SE Lyngate Drive, Lyngate Park, March 26, 2016 between 7:00-715pm
•         2200 block SE Veterans Memorial Parkway, Rivergate Park, March 26, 2016 between 7:10-7:30pm
•         10624 SW Village Parkway, LA Fitness, March 29, 2016 between 6:20-7:50pm
•         10624 SW Village Parkway, LA Fitness, March 29, 2016 between 6:50-7:50pm
•         10624 SW Village Parkway, LA Fitness, March 29, 2016 between 7:00-8:05pm
•         1310 SE West Star Avenue, St. Lucie Surgery Center, March 30, 2016 between 8:15am-12:00pm
•         10000 SW Innovation Way, Traditions Medical Center, April 8, 2016 between 1:20-3:30pm
•         9328 US Highway 1, Civic Center, April 8, 2016 at 1:48pm

Police urge citizens to remove all valuables from their cars both at home or when in public.
