A Brevard County man is under arrest after ramming his car into the Port St. Lucie home of his ex-girlfriend and stabbing her father, according to police.

Investigators said 29-year-old Jeffrey Eugene Williams of Palm Bay was on a date with his ex-girlfriend Wednesday night when they got into an argument and she asked to go home.

Police said he dropped the woman off at her house in the 1300 block of SW Bartell Avenue and left. They said he returned a short time later and drove his car into the front double doors and broke into the home.

Police photos from the scene show tire tracks leading to the entrance and one door lying on the ground inside the residence.

Once Williams got inside, his ex-girlfriend, with whom he has a 9-month-old child, and her mother escaped by crawling out a window, a police report stated.

Still inside were a sleeping child and the former girlfriend's father. Police said Williams attacked the dad and stabbed him in the arm before leaving.

Police arrested Williams on charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, burglary with assault, and criminal mischief.

The victim was last reported in stable condition after treatment for a large laceration and stab wound. He is expected to recover.
