It's not the way Dylan Bard expected to start his Monday. “The door was just basically smashed in. Glass was broken everywhere. Pretty messy.”

His Chevron gas station is the latest victim of a several smash and grab burglar.

In surveillance video released by police you can see the thief using his own car to ram the door of the gas station.

He heads for the cash register, ripping it from its spot and frantically grabbing what he can.

And as quick as he's in, he's out. Driving into the night.

Investigators say the man is responsible for nearly a dozen smash and grabs in the past month.

The burglar has targeted everything from Chinese restaurants to hair salons across the Treasure Coast.

Flowers by Susan, right across from the Port St. Lucie Police Department was targeted just last week.

“We’re still finding pieces of glass all around. Fortunately he didn't smash anything else but just the door,” said employee Mariah Uphues.

She's thankful that this time, the thief didn't get any cash.

“There’s not much money in small businesses to begin with. And the fact that he's hitting us...it really is a shame,” Uphues said.

Dylan says he doesn't think this crime spree will last much longer. “He's not making enough money doing this obviously because he keeps doing it. He'll get what he gets.”

The suspect is described as about 6’2” with a medium build. He wears a hooded sweatshirt, jeans and gloves.

It’s believed he’s driving a silver or gray Buick LeSabre.
