FORT PIERCE, Fla. — In Fort Pierce Wednesday, a ceremony honored a hero who died on September 11th.
CeeCee Ross Lyles was a flight attendant on Flight 93, that crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Lyles was a Fort Pierce native who worked as a detective with the Fort Pierce Police Department before changing careers.
Her son, now 24, thanked everyone for keeping her memory alive.
“I want to keep that going and keep the love going. All this happened because of hate. And how we reverse that, is with love," said Jevon Castrillo.
