A construction worker discovered a skull while clearing a lot to build a personal storage facility on the road just west of U.S. 1.

The skull and other bones were sent to the C.A. Pound Human Identification Laboratory at the Department of Anthropology at the University of Florida.

The sheriff said the remains belonged to Calvin Douglas Parrott who was last heard from in 2002 and his death appeared to be from natural causes. Parrott was homeless at the time.

Sheriff Mascara said Parrott had no known health issues and there was no trauma to the bones. Dental records were used to help identify him.
