Orionid meteor shower peaks this weekend

Stargazers, set a reminder this weekend. The annual Orionid meteor shower will be putting on a light show.

You will have to wake up early before dawn, but no telescope is necessary to see Orionids shooting across the sky.

The best viewing time will be around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21 and Monday, Oct. 22, but also on Oct. 29 if you miss the peak, according to the Weather Channel.

During its peak, you could see 15 to 20 meteors per hour.

However, we are getting close to a full moon, which is Oct. 24, so that could put a damper on this year's light now.

Orionid meteors can be seen anywhere across the sky, so astronomers do not specify a specific direction to focus your attention.

As always, try to get away from the bright city lights for the best viewing experience.
